FLASHPOINT Makes History With Timeslot Win, Thursday On CTV
– THE BIG BANG THEORY is #1 series of the night with 4 million viewers –
– TWO AND A HALF MEN watched by 2.8 million viewers –
– GREY’S ANATOMY remains strong with 2.4 million viewers –
Toronto, ON (October 5, 2012) – CTV’s home grown hit FLASHPOINT becomes the first stand alone Canadian series in 16 years to win the prestigious Thursday at 10 p.m. timeslot in the fall season. With 1.45 million viewers, FLASHPOINT surged past Global/CBS’s ELEMENTARY, which dropped 30% to 1.38 million viewers. FLASHPOINT won the hour with total viewers and the key A18-49 demo as well. The lead over ELEMENTARY was even stronger in Canada’s largest TV market as FLASHPOINT won its timeslot with total viewers and the key demo A18-49 in Toronto.

Also last night, THE BIG BANG THEORY (3.9 million) and TWO AND A HALF MEN (2.8 million) at 8 and 8:30 p.m. remained Thursday’s Top 2 programs on Canadian television with total viewers and all key adult demos. Meanwhile, CTV Two’s THE X FACTOR (939,000) out sang LAST RESORT (Global/ABC; 902,000) at 8 p.m., which dropped 31% of its viewers from last week. At 9 p.m., Thursday night veteran GREY’S ANATOMY (2.4 million) won its timeslot once again with total viewers and all key demos, against GLEE (1.2 million; Global/FOX) which saw a 4% decrease over last week.
Overall, CTV once again delivered four of Thursday’s Top 5 programs on Canadian television. CTV averaged 2.3 million viewers in primetime, more than the other three networks combined, Head to head CTV more than doubled Global’s primetime average.
