Excerpts from Week One’s contest entries:

Danielle Palmer, Colorado Springs, CO

My name is SSgt Danielle Palmer and I am with the US Air Force. First off, I have to say thanks to the entire “Flashpoint” crew to include the behind the camera staff to make this show even possible. It truly is an amazing honor to witness such an AMAZING show.

The entire crew and producers has put such a realistic spin that we can all relate to this show at one point or another.  I personally have taken a lot out of this show. As a military member, we live in a life similar to Team One.  We have to be ready in a moment’s notice and make a sacrifice to leave our families behind because duty calls. The “Flashpoint” show really demonstrates many different aspects of life scenarios in where we are all faced with difficult situations.

Bottom line, life happens and when situations arise we need to face those no matter what. The entire show has demonstrated how we can deal with these situations and learn to balance life. Whether we are a leader or a follower, we all face some kind of situation that is difficult. In my opinion, this show has really demonstrated how to face these situations but also learn how to come to a balanced approach to it all.

A true thanks to all the countless hours and dedication it took to make this show happen. You truly do make an impact in so many people’s lives.

Kelsey Kolinko, Petawawa, Ont.

Over the last five years I have come to love the cast and amazing episodes. The storyline of every season has gotten better and better. “Flashpoint” has helped me solidify my goal of becoming a police officer and ultimately joining the "SRU" of the department I will work with.

Having a character like "Jules" has been a pleasure and she is very relatable. I aspire to be like her and have the courage and skill set to help me achieve my goals. The amazing cast “Flashpoint” has is far beyond any that has been on TV to date. Very well done I don't have anything but amazing things to say about the cast, the show and the wonderful people who created the best show on TV today!!!!

Courtney Kerr. Hubley, N.S.

“Flashpoint” has actually inspired me to consider a career in law enforcement when I’m a bit older and I’m almost positive that it’s what I want to do. I find that you all make “Flashpoint” seem so real. Not only does it show the dangerous and highly skilled view of the officers, you also show the family life and what pressure and pain the officers have to go through. Whether it was Ed after having to shoot the 18 year old girl or Jules having to help Sam because when he went to check the pulse of a woman he had a painful memory of his sister.

Some of my favorite “Flashpoint” moments are when in episode 504 Spike talked they guy hanging on the edge down and when Sam hit on Jules in episode 101! Amazing scenes, great job!

Anita McAllister, Queensland, Australia

I just want to say thank you for making a show that not only shows how hard and emotional it is to be on the force but that they are also humans with families and loved ones. The show is brilliant and I will miss watching it every week. Enormous pats on the back to everyone involved and good luck with all your future works.

Teresa Kim Nguyen, Ottawa, Ont.

“Flashpoint” has been my must-see show for years.  Each week brought an amazing plot with an equally amazing cast to continually raise the bar of expectations.  Finding out that the fifth season would be the last just about made my heart drop but I’m happy it’s ending with the dignity it should.  All the same, I’m going to miss having a show so thought-provoking and beautiful being on the air.

“One Wrong Move” remains one of my favourite episodes and, no matter how many times I watch it, I will still end up crying.  There are so many others I could pick out, so many favourite scenes that it’s impossible to really narrow it down.  The raw emotions that every character shows, the negotiations that reach to the core of a person’s humanity, they all set “Flashpoint” apart from every other show.

I haven’t even adequately described just how much this show has reached out and touched my heart so all I can really say is thanks.  Thank you for putting together such an incredible show.  And it has become so much more than that.  With the producers so eager to reach out to fans via Facebook and Twitter, you’ve made being a fan into an experience that I will never forget.

This show makes me so proud to be Canadian and I’m going to miss it dearly.

Alison Mo, Thornhill, Ont.

I've never been one to watch television shows based on a police force. However and exceptionally, “Flashpoint” has found a niche in my heart as its own genre. I would love to say I am your biggest fan, but judging by its success in all of Canada (and even internationally!), I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one to say so. The producers, actors, and everyone involved in “Flashpoint” have invested so much into the show and the fans that it makes it that much easier for me to invest myself into the show. Thank you for representing the city of Toronto, the city's top police force, and real good Canadian television.

Thank you also for leaving me and the fans with a better understanding of the men and women who serve us and put so much of themselves physically -- and emotionally -- on the line for us.

They are some of our world's real heroes! “Flashpoint” has taken me along on some incredible journeys. Thank you for all the hours of heart-racing, tear-jerking, adrenaline-pumping, joyous entertainment.

Each message is passed along to cast and producers and all submissions will qualify for a random weekly prize draw, with a handful of your messages posted to CTV.ca each week.

The deadline for Week Two of the contest is Friday, Nov 23 at 12:01 p.m. – Friday, Nov. 30 at 12 p.m. For more information about the content, click here!

“Flashpoint” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on CTV. Full episodes are also available online at CTV.ca.
